So Taxicode are refusing to refund you?

You're not alone. Taxicode's policy on refunds is directly against the Competition and Market Authority's guidance on cancelling goods and services. The guidance states that:

the business is generally only entitled to keep or receive an amount sufficient to cover their actual losses that directly result from your cancellation

This means that they can only withold your refund if they can prove that they directly lost money as a result of your cancellation. If they cannot prove this then they are in violation of CMA rules and you are legally entitled to a refund.

How can I get my money back?

I didn't even book through Taxicode, why do I need to contact them?

Taxicode have been known to take payment before finding a local company who will take your booking, and will cancel at a moment's notice if they can't find a company willing to take your booking.

Currently there 451 websites Taxicode use to pose as a genuine taxi company:

Hopefully this information is of help to someone out there. I'd love to hear from you if this has been of help and you've been able to get your refund.
